Trying this for the very first time but loved it.
Loved the north indian specials always and wanted to try
all the famous recipes.
One of them is the very famous gatte ki sabzi and been planning to
do this since a long time.
And finally done this and came out very well.
Hope u too love it.
Ingredients :
For the gatte:
chick pea flour(besan) : 1 cup
ajwain : 1/2 tsp
red chilli powder : 1 tsp
oil : 2 tsp
curd : 2 tbsp
salt to taste
For the gravy:
Onions : 1 medium
Tomato : 2 big
Green chillies : 2
Ginger : 1 inch piece
Red chilli powder : 2 tsp(adjust accordingly)
Dhaniya powder : 1 tsp
Curd : 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Coriander for garnish
Procedure:
Take all the gatte ingredients into a bowl.
Add water and mix into a soft dough.
make into cylindrical shapes as shown in the picture and put aside.
Pour water in a saucepan and bring the water to boil.
When boiling add the gatte and let them cook for 20 minutes.
Take the gatte into a plate and cut them into one inch pieces and put aside.
Chop the onions finely.
Now take the tomatoes ,ginger and green chillies and grind into fine paste.
Heat a kadai and add oil .
When heated add cumin seeds and then add onions.
When they turn transparent,add the tomato paste and mix well.
Let it cook for 10 minutes till raw smell goes off.
Add red chilli powder ,dhaniya powder ,turmeric powder and salt
and mix well.
Add curd and mix well.
Now add the gatte pieces and mix well.
Cook for 2 minutes and switch off .
Add coriander leaves and mix well.
Serve hot with rotis..
